Creating Multiple Ways to Win
Even with the best roster construction, standard stroke-play pools can quickly become one-sided if a manager drafts the runaway tournament leader. Integrating side games ensures that every member has a reason to stay invested, regardless of their position on the primary leaderboard.
1. The Par 3 Challenge
This side game isolates performance exclusively on the shortest holes. The software calculates the lowest cumulative score on Par 3s across a manager's drafted roster. This is especially potent at events like The Masters, where the Par 3s dictate critical momentum swings.
2. The Birdie Blitz
Total score emphasizes error avoidance. The Birdie Blitz side game rewards raw aggression by tracking the highest total count of Birdies, Eagles, or better by a manager's roster. This keeps managers engaged even if their players are heavily over par, so long as they are still finding the bottom of the cup.
3. The Sunday Closer (Round 4 Only)
For pools where the primary winner has already run away with the lead by Saturday night, "The Sunday Closer" tracks the lowest aggregate team score in Round 4 strictly. It functions as a clean slate for the final day, ensuring maximum engagement down to the last putt.
